about

The highly anticipated sophomore recording from Funk Dub Division. Never released in America! THE IMPORTS is a digital fusion of organic beats, seriously fat funk and deep heavy dub. Once again, the entire globe is in attendance with vocals, ryddms, and poetry from all four corners, and even beyond the confines of this plane. Influenced by pop, jazz, TV, dance, island and ghetto sources, these tracks are carefully crafted with the newest and oldest technologies available. Your grandma is going to love something on this record, as well as the punk next door. Its old school, but you've never heard THIS before. Negrobot programs beats and then brings in drum and percussion specialists to keep it real. Phatty Acid develops synth patches on mystic retreats. Memo's vocals were recorded deep in the jungle--and Scientist graced us with a remix! We capture through analogue recording chains because we care about tone.
